Timothée Chalamet joins the cast of Wes Anderson's new movie

Cape Town - Timothée Chalamet will star alongside the likes of Tilda Swinton and BIll Murray in Wes Anderson's new movie The French Dispatch.

The 23-year-old will play one of the leads in the drama set in the 1950s which follows a group of journalists at an American newspaper bureau in Paris.

Filming of the movie began on Wednesday in France. 

Other cast members include: Frances McDormand, Benicio del Toro and Jeffrey Wright.

On Thursday the young actor was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Beautiful Boy.

The movie in which Timothée plays a drug addicted teenager; chronicles the heartbreaking and inspiring experience of survival, relapse, and recovery in a family coping with addiction over many years.
