WATCH: First look at Elton John flick Rocketman

Cape Town – Hot on the heels of the first look image release of Taron Egerton as Elton John comes the first teaser. 

Paramount Pictures released a 1-minute clip of the upcoming “fantasy musical”.

Set to the song, Rocketman, we see a montage of scenes from the movie, as a narrator says: “There are moments in a rock star's life that define who he is. Where there is darkness there is now you, and it is going to be a wild ride.”

During the last minutes of the clip we get a snippet of Taron singing.

In an interview with Collider, Taron said that the movie is about John's formative years. 

“Everyone thinks it’s a biopic. It isn’t. It’s a fantasy musical so it’s actually his songs used to express important beats in his life at emotional moments. He’s not the only character that sings. It’s going to be fun.”

The film is scheduled for release in May 2019.
