WATCH: Kevin Spacey movie filmed in 2016 to hit cinemas

Cape Town – Kevin Spacey will make his return to the big screen months after he was accused of sexual assault by multiple young men. (Read more here)

Spacey has denied the allegations, come out as gay and has disappeared from the public eye. 

One of his latest films is scheduled to be released in US theatres on 19 July.

In the Billionaire Boys Club, a biographical crime drama Spacey plays a leading role. 

It centres on a group of wealthy boys in 1980s Los Angeles come up with a plan to get-rich-quick with a Ponzi scheme. The plan ends badly with the boys murdering a con-man. 

Spacey plays Ron Levin the con artist who tricked the boys into the Ponzi scheme. 

He is joined by Baby Driver co-star Ansel Elgort who plays Joe Hunt the group’s leader and who ends up killing Ron. 

Other cast members include: Taron Egerton, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourde, Suki Waterhouse, Jeremy Irvine and Judd Nelson.

Spacey has not been onscreen since the allegations surfaced. 

Netflix fired him from the series House of Cards and Ridley Scott replaced him with Christopher Plummer in the film, All The Money in the World

The Billionaires Boys Club was shot between December 2015 and January 2016.

An SA release is yet to be confirmed.
