Safta award-winning director Tim Greene (Boy Called Twist, Skeem) has just wrapped filming for his feature film, Cabin Fever, which was created during the coronavirus lockdown.
According to a press release, the movie was filmed by the cast using only phones and laptops. The script was written in instalments as a series of video calls, messages and meetings. It was tailored to the locations and the props available.
Cabin Fever centres on Sarah Clayburn (Jenna Upton), a second wife and stepmother living in Cape Town who is struggling to keep her family, who is across the world, together.
When she finds out that her husband, Andrew's (James Cuningham) first wife Deborah (Michelle Scott) is dying of Covid-19, she organises an online family meeting to try and help the children reconcile with their mother who abandoned them.
Other cast members include: Keenan Arrison, Ndoni Khanyile, Skye Russell, Bonko Khoza, Tem Muller, Lesego Chabedi, Jessica Pietersen Scott and Angela Lieveaux.

The film is currently in post-production and will be released in the coming months. The filmmaker is currently in negotiation to find a home for the film on a streaming platform.
