WATCH: The trailer for Brie Larson's directorial debut 'Unicorn Store' is whimsical

Cape Town – Hot on the heels of the success of Captain Marvel Brie Larson's directorial debut is heading to Netflix.

In Unicorn Store which releases on the streaming service in April she reunites with co-star Samuel L. Jackson.

The film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2017 with Netflix picking up distribution rights in January this year.

Unicorn Store centres on Kit (Larson) a failed artist who moves back in with her parents and takes a job up as an office worker.

One day, she receives a mysterious letter from an unnamed salesman who invites her to "The Store", a strange indeterminate place that sells "what you need". The Salesman (Jackson) offers her the chance to have it sell her childhood fantasy: a unicorn.
