Cape Town - In a few weeks will see the Avengers take one final stand in Marvel Studios' grand conclusion to twenty-two films, Avengers: Endgame

HERE ARE 5 THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW:

Beyond infinity

The heroes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe don’t care much for secret identities, but the makers of the 22 Marvel movies - now grandly known as The Infinity Saga - love keeping secrets, especially about their superhero epics.

So let’s speculate wildly about what’s in store in Avengers: Endgame, and the future Marvel movies.

Last time, on Avengers

The Mad Titan Thanos (Josh Brolin), snapped his giant fingers, wiped out half of all life in the universe, sighed, and went to watch a sunset, as you do.

Half of our heroes dissolved into ash, while the rest watched, horrified.

And now, the epic conclusion!

From the trailers, we know that the surviving Avengers - basically all of them from the first Avengers movie, along with galaxy guardians Rocket and Nebula - are up to, well, something.

Will they, uh, avenge the deaths of their fellow sentient beings, or are they plotting to Back to the Future Thanos’ plans with jaunts through time, or into the bizarro world of the quantum realm, as seen in Ant-Man?

Wait, what?

Oh yes. If you’ve managed to avoid this bajillion-dollar juggernaut movie series, none of this is likely to make a whole lot of sense.

New allies

Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) joins the gang, along with Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson, last seen in Thor: Ragnarok) and Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner) and his dodgy new haircut - a moHawkeye, if you will!

Avengers: Endgame is in cinemas from Friday, 26 April.
