Whose line is it anyway? Idris Elba wants to clear the air

Cape Town - Idris Elba has insisted he is responsible for the line "I'm black Superman" in the new Fast & Furious spin-off film.

The Academy-Award nominated actor stars as the villain, a technologically enhanced super-soldier Brixton in the first spinoff of the franchise starring Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham, who reprise their roles as Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw.

In an interview with Press Association the 46-year-old wanted to clear up the air on who came up with the now iconic line from the film as various members of the production, including Dwayne, have claimed they came up with the line in the film, which features in the trailer.

The film earned $60.8m domestically and $180m globally in its debut weekend in South Africa it was number two in the top 10 at the box office.
