Cape Town - American actor Will Smith is set to portray the life of Richard Williams, father to two of the most iconic tennis legends Venus and Serena Williams in an upcoming biopic according to DailyMail.

The movie which will be titled King Richard is set to portray the inspiring story of how a father who had no tennis background experience, raised two of the most world renowned tennis stars.

The A-list actor was cast to play the character of Richard – who trained his daughters from an early age in cracked and weedy courts in Compton, strategically developed a professional 78-page plan for their careers.

It is without a doubt that anyone can attest to the 70-year-old's contribution to his daughters careers especially Serena who has gone on to win 23 Grand Slam tournaments.

Speaking in a recent interview with CNN reporter Don Riddell, Richard revealed how happy it made him to watch his daughters rise above and beyond what he could have ever imagined.

“Sometimes it brings tears to my eyes… I couldn’t live the way that I live if it wasn’t for them,” said the proud father.

Will’s casting as King Richard which will be produced by his company and written by Zach Baylin according to BET, shortly comes after he exited the popular Suicide Squad sequel.
