Zac Efron takes on Ted Bundy in new movie

Cape Town - Zac Efron departs from ‘cheesy,’ ‘charming’ characters of the past to play serial killer Ted Bundy in Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile.

He premiered the movie at the Sundance Film Festival. While Efron has received praise from critics the movie has also been slammed for romanticising Ted Bundy.

Directed by Joe Berlinger (Brother's Keeper) the film is told through the eyes of his girlfriend, Liz Kloepfer (Lily Collins) a single mother who cannot resist his charms.

For her Ted (Efron) is a match made in heaven and she soon falls for him but their domestic bliss is shattered when Ted is arrested and charged with a number of crimes.
