Confessions Of A Dangerous Mind

"My name is Charles Hirsch Barris. I have written pop songs, I have been a television producer. I am responsible for polluting the airwaves with mind-numbing puerile entertainment. In addition, I have murdered thirty-three human beings."

So begins the tongue in cheek "unauthorized autobiography" of notorious television producer Chuck Barris. Television made him famous, but his biggest hits happened off screen. Confessions Of A Dangerous Mind is the story of a legendary showman's double life-television producer by day, CIA assassin by night.

While Barris gains notoriety as a dynamic television producer-creating such innovative and popular game shows as "The Newlywed Game" and the self-hosted "The Gong Show"-he regularly executes assassinations for the United States government. As Barris basks in the glamour of his two worlds - entertainment and espionage - his life begins to spiral out of control.

"This is a beautifully composed movie, shot through with sadness. A fair distance from flawless, but fascinating nonetheless."
Nev Pierce, BBCi

"In his directorial debut...George Clooney delivers a highly stylized biopic that showcases the confessions of an absurd mind rather than a dangerous one."
Guylaine Cadorette, Hollywood.Com

"Together, the previously obscure Sam Rockwell - who delivers a bravura performance as Barris - and Clooney, in a stunning directing debut, transform Barris' wild yarns into the movie equivalent of must-see TV."
- Lou Lumenick, New York Post

George Clooney makes his directorial debut with this adaptation of television producer Chuck Barris's cult autobiography.
