I Love You, Beth Cooper

What the movie's about:

In this hilarious teen comedy from Harry Potter director Chris Columbus, a nerdy valedictorian proclaims his love for the hottest cheerleader in school during his graduation speech with uproarious ensuing results.

Denis Cooverman is the class nerd who is a shoe-in for class valedictorian due to his grades if not his popularity. However, aware that unless he acts he will forever regret the missed opportunity of professing his true feelings for his dream girl Beth Cooper, Denis spills his heart out from atop the podium in front of his entire finishing class.

Not only that, but thinking that little will come of his confession and that it will be nothing more than a parting shot, Denis publicly disses Beth's psychotic Marine ex-boyfriend Kevin, who is in the audience, from the same podium.

However, what Denis didn't consider was the fact that Beth would show up at his door that very night, having decided to take him out on the town and show him the best night of his life.

But, that's not the only shock for Denis. As the pair go out into the night on a seemingly endless journey through the town's hotspots, they discover that trailing them, with his hardcore buddies by his side, is Kevin, intent on punishing Denis for both the earlier verbal insult and the fact that he has the nerve of dating his glamorous and popular ex.

What the critics have to say:

"This unfunny, unoriginal, charmless teen comedy is so stunningly awful from start to finish, it's amazing to think its director has made a single film before, much less a dozen."
-  Joe Neumaier, New York Daily News

"One high school graduation party that you won't want to attend."
-  Stephen Farber, Hollywood Reporter

"A flat, tired rehash of teen movie story tropes, the film attempts to have it both ways by winkingly acknowledging its secondhand origins."
-  Mark Olsen, Los Angeles Times

"Aiming for the heartfelt hilarity of Superbad, I Love You, Beth Cooper is just super bad."
-  Peter Travers, Rolling Stone
