Sing (Stephen Chow) is a hapless wannabe gangster who must demonstrate his mettle in order to become a member of the notorious Axe Gang. The Axe Gang, meanwhile, are in the middle of a turf war with the inhabitants of Pig Sty Alley, a sacred street protected by an motley band of inhabitants, many of whom are highly skilled kung fu masters disguised as ordinary people. After several encounters with thugs and a fearsome adversary known as the Beast, Sing overcomes his inadequacy and realizes he is the greatest kung fu master of them all, destined to protect the sacred street.

What the critics are saying:

"...essentially one long computer-enhanced Looney Tunes punch-up - and probably the most fun you'll have at the movies all year."
- Paul Arendt, BBC Movies

"When I saw it at Sundance, I wrote that it was 'like Jackie Chan and Buster Keaton meet Quentin Tarantino and Bugs Bunny.' You see how worked up you can get, watching a movie like this."
- Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times

"So filled with crazy energy that it seems to leap off the screen, Kung Fu Hustle is the most wildly inventive, purely entertaining and cuckoo-cool flick to hit movie houses this year..."
- Tom Long, Detroit News

This madcap kung fu comedy from the makers of "Shaolin Soccer" is probably the most fun you'll have at a movie theatre all year. Its hyperkinetic blend of martial arts action with looney tunes slapstick and witty pop cultural references has to be seen to be believed.
