Ralph Kramden (Cedric the Entertainer) is always coming up with get-rich-quick schemes for him and his best friend, Ed Norton (Mike Epps), who's always around to help him get in (and out of) trouble. Though Ralph's mind constantly whirs with new plans to get rich - he and his feisty wife Alice (Gabrielle Union), struggle to make ends meet.

They've managed to save some money and, along with their best friends Ed and Trixie Norton (Regina Hall), they seem to have almost enough money for a down payment on a Brooklyn duplex. But then Ralph comes up with another crazy scheme...

What the critics are saying:

"Cannibalizing old programs has become a reflex action in Tinseltown, and as a result, audience expectations are low. It must be hard to resist the temptation to live down to them."
- Walter V. Addiego, San Francisco Chronicle

"A surprise and a delight, a movie that escapes the fate of weary TV retreads and creates characters that remember the originals, yes, but also stand on their own."
- Roger Ebert, Chicago Sun-Times

"A lackluster affair, devoid of laughs and just about anything else one might construe as entertainment."
- Kirk Honeycutt, Hollywood Reporter

Does a movie based on a mediocre 1950s sitcom sound like a bad idea? Well that's because it IS a bad idea.
