The Incredibles

The Incredibles follows the adventures of a family of former superheroes rediscovering the true source of their powers - in one another. Once one of the world's top masked crimefighters, Bob Parr (AKA Mr. Incredible) fought evil and saved lives on a daily basis. But fifteen years later, he and his wife Helen (a famous former superhero in her own right) have been forced to take on civilian identities and retreat to the suburbs.

Today they live as mere mortals and lead all-too-ordinary lives with their children- who go out of their way to appear "normal." As a clock-punching insurance man, the only thing Bob fights these days is boredom and a bulging waistline. Itching for action, the sidelined superhero gets his chance when a mysterious communication summons him to a remote island for a top-secret assignment.

Now, with the fate of the world hanging in the balance, the family must come together and once again find the fantastic in their family life.

What the critics are saying:

"Writer-director Brad Bird shows the same attention to character that set apart his debut feature, The Iron Giant (1999), and ensures that sumptuous CG animation takes second place to a ripping good yarn." (RATING: 5 out of 5)
- Stella Papamichael, BBCi Film

"While delivering the goods as a rip-roaring action-adventure and in the process rocketing the art of animation to new heights of imagination, humor and wonder, director-writer Brad Bird has crafted a film that breaks fresh ground and defies fogy rules." (RATING: 3 1/2 out of 4)
- Peter Travers, Rolling Stone

"As always, Pixar excels with its animation, but what makes this family film even more appealing is the smartness of the script, which is clearly written, end to end, to appeal to adults as well as children." (Editor's pick)
- Jennifer Frey, Washington Post

Pixar have become experts at creating animated features that appeal to both adults and children, and "The Incredibles" is no exception. Combining flawless animation, sharp wit and lashings of adventure - this is easily one of their best films to date, and is an absolute must see.

Wonderful wonderful wonderful! I took my kids to preview show earlier this week, and I was really expecting the worst. My wife usually takes them to "kiddies" movies and so I never saw "Finding Nemo" or "Shrek" or any of those. I was all ready to enjoy a nap in the theatre and ended up laughing so much I embarassed the kids! I've never seen my 6-year-old blush so much before. Go and see it - kids or no kids -you won't regret it!!!! Shawshank Redemption

Incredibles - one of the best movies this year The movie was awesome. I had no idea what to expect when I went to see it, and it turned out brilliant. Definitely one of the best movies I've seen in the last year. It has a unique story compared to other super hero movies Kill Bill - both volumes

"The Incredibles" wes incredible A very witty movie for children and adults alike. I think it was very well done. Loved how they put the whole thing together. I think it was better than Finding Nemo if only slightly so. Monster's Inc
