What it's about:

Animated sausage, Frank (Seth Rogen), discovers that his dream and life goal of being taken home from the grocery store by a human is based on a lie. The determined tasty-treat tries to tell the love of his life as well as all of his friends but no one wants to hear the truth. So Frank comes up with a master plan, but things don’t really go his way at first.

What we thought of it:

I’ll be honest with you; I wasn’t ready for the amount of full frontal sex between animated food stuffs that I saw in this film. But knowing Seth Rogan – who stars in and wrote the film – I should of.

Rogen, who was the star of movies like Pineapple Express and Superbad, delivers what he is known for: raunchy humor. Other than those sex-filled puns there is also violence and lewd language. If you’re fine with all of that then this is the type of movie for you and it will definitely make you laugh.

The plot is pretty easy to figure out and the only character development (in the loosest form of the idea) was for Frank but wasn’t a big deal for me because the film was clearly meant to make me laugh and not think.

The only issue I had was the script. It features an extended metaphor about religion that hit me over the head sometimes and I felt like it could have been done in a more subtle way, but I guess finesse isn’t really these filmmakers’ strong suits.

I think if you like dirty humour then you should go watch this film at the cinemas this weekend (without your kids) because it was written with you in mind.

Will you laugh? For sure.

Will you also cringe and feel like a line was crossed? Probably, but hey, don’t say I didn’t warn you.
