What it's about:

The story of how a most unusual new baby’s arrival impacts a family, told from the point of view of a delightfully unreliable narrator—wildly imaginative 7-year-old Tim. With a sly, heart-filled message about the importance of family, this is an authentic and broadly appealing original comedy for all ages.

What we thought:

After watching the trailer for Boss Baby I wasn't quite sure what to expect but somehow an infant - brilliantly voiced by Alec Baldwin - dressed in a suit, carrying a briefcase stole my heart.

And upon watching the entire film, the storyline still makes no sense but has LOL moments that will appeal to kids and adults alike and tells an adorable story with heart-warming moments that may steal a couple of sniffles and tears.

While Boss Baby's humour takes the spotlight, the film and storyline still finds a way to teach kids, and even adults, a valuable lesson about having siblings.

As a younger sibling I have no idea what my older sister experienced when my parents brought me home, and why should I even care. But for an older sibling, in this case 7-year-old Tim (Miles Bakshi), welcoming a new baby sister or brother is the end of the world.

And it makes total sense. No longer being the centre of your parents' attention can be rather devastating, until you realise you can use the new human in your life to your advantage.

The creative thinking and writing that has gone into Boss Baby takes it from being a silly little animation to something with substance that people will still think and talk about after leaving the cinema.

The 3D element makes for great entertainment and adds to the already colourful backdrop of the adventure Tim and Boss Baby go on. Cute additions, like the puppies and other babies will keep kids glued to the screen and the intelligent humour will give parents a laugh too.

Sure at first glance it looks a little dumb but giving Boss Baby the benefit of the doubt was well worth it, I thoroughly enjoyed it and everyone else will too!
