Amerie - Touch

Relying once again on her so-called mentor, award winning R&B and pop producer Rich Harrison, Touch somehow falls short of expectations.

The album isn't bad in its entirety, it's just... well... boring. Half way through the CD it feels as if you've been listening to 30 minutes of the same percussion line and will continue to be dragged through the same melodies for the next 23 minutes.

That's a total of 53 minutes of the same tedious beat plus a few monotonous hooks and over-the-top ad-libs.

However, there are a few tracks that make Touch worth listening to, if only once. The infectious beats of "1 Thing" can also be heard on the soundtrack to the movie Hitch, while a funky Richcraft remix of "Why Don't We Fall In Love" adds a bit of soul to an otherwise lifeless album.

Amerie's second studio album Touch is poor, adulterous, R&B.
