Celine Dion - On Ne Change Pas

2006-03-30 11:42

"On ne change pas" means "we don't change", and this is true of this diva and her devout fans, legions of whom live in South Africa, where she's the biggest selling female artist.

Here's a very rough translation of a couple of lyrics: "We don't change / We simply put other's costumes on ourselves / We don't change / A jacket simply hides a little of what we see / We do not grow /We simply get a little taller, no more / The time of a dream, of a little dream / And touch them with the finger."

Cute, ne?

Celine may never leave Las Vegas alive, but true fans will forgive her anything - even driving Leonardo DiCaprio underwater where the liquid would deaden his ears in that film about the boat sinking.

This French language only double CD best of features mainly her trademark torch songs, but there are also a couple of jazzier tracks. Fans will be pleased to find plenty of lyrics and pictures of Celine when she was younger than today in the CD sleeve.

If there's a Celine Dion fan on your Christmas gift list, this is exactly the right thing to buy her.
