Josh Groban - Noel

It's something of an over-emotional offering that is probably way too serious for silly season celebrations. Many of the tracks make use of a backing choir and organ to create a hollow, melancholic mood. Nowhere more so than a sombre rendition of "Ill Be Home for Christmas" which features voiceovers from American soldiers stationed in Iraq wishing their families well over the festive season. Very festive, Josh.

Still, the two duets, "Angels We Have Heard on High" (with forgotten R&B smoothie Brian McKnight) and "The First Noel" (with country-pop pin-up Faith Hill) add a welcome splash of seasonal cheer to an otherwise sombre holiday soundtrack.

Noel sees classical pop crooner Josh belt his way through a play list of classic traditional carols from "Silent Night" and "Little Drummer Boy" to "O Come All Ye Faithful" and more.
