KB - My Rhythm

The title track is an affirmation highlighting KB’s newfound voice and freedom. “Too many voices in my head, too many people had so much to say about my business, my wishes and what to think…but I’ve finally found my rhythm” she says. She is done dancing to other people’s tunes. Wonder if it has anything to do with ex-hubby? Moving along - equally infectious Spanish influenced “Mowa” has been getting plenty of air-play and “Mo ni fe re” (featuring D Benga on djembe and vocals) is the freshest and tightest track on the album with its African drums and upbeat Nigerian rhythms and lyrics.

KB is one of the few local artists that are collaborating and connecting with fellow African musicians and is not afraid to stretch herself and her sound. She is original and this album seals the deal with a bit of everything: soul, house, Latin and African rhythms. Never one to stay stagnant and monotonous, it looks like she is going to be around for a while - SAMA award or not.

KB recently divorced Terry Pinana who has been her producer since she launched her music career. She’s also back on t.v starring in Etv soapie Rhythm City. It makes sense then why she’s called her latest offering My Rhythm.
