Lusanda Spiritual Group - Buyani Buyani

Point is that it’s very hard to find true talent when it comes to South African Gospel Music mainly because everyone copies the sounds of legends like Rebecca Malope.

Then you get real gospel giants like Lusanda Spiritual Group. Lead by their lead guitarist Lusanda Mcinga, this Award winning group is amazing. Buyani Buyani offers a variety of sound, the most prominent being the maskandi and iZion styled "Thetha Nkosi", whose school choir feel takes you down memory lane, back to secondary school morning assembly when the whole school gathers for morning prayer.
For those who love the iZion singing style, "Ndamemeza" is the bomb. You can tell that for Lusanda gospel is more than just a tool for fame and money, it’s a calling.

But if you looking for the happy clappy get up and dance kind of gospel this CD is not for you. This one is for the mature listener, the kind of music mom and grandma play every Sunday when preparing lunch or getting ready for a church service.

Gospel in South Africa is not taken seriously anymore. Every one is singing gospel, no matter whether you have talent or not, if you know a couple of church hymns and can hold a note then you are good to go. Even a tabloid diva like Kelly Khumalo used gospel to break into the industry.
