Schalk Joubert - Kayamandi

We took our boom box and cameras and hit the streets to get your opinion on Schalk Joubert’s Kayamandi album, which, by the way, isn’t bad at all.

The mostly soothing Kayamandi features big names in music, including Zolani Mahola from Freshly Ground, Gloria Bosman and Feya Faku among others.

We got customers at Long Street's African Music Store to rate the album out of five, dance to it, and give us their review. We also asked them if they knew what a plectrum is… don’t worry, they didn’t know either! Check out the responses (we got it all on tape).

Let us know what you think and give it a rating of your own. Please note that the rating on this review is not ours, but the average rating given by the people we interviewed.
What is a plectrum? How would you dance to Schalk Joubert's new "world fusion" album, Kayamandi? We got the answers on video in this week's Street Review.
