Seed - Germinating

So how are the boys doing without a lady in the mix? Well, it takes a while to get used to the idea that you won’t be hearing Thuli’s angelic voice harmonizing with Velaphi and Monde. Nevertheless, they manage to hold their own with a soulful and fun album. The only snag is that it sounds just like the previous album with hints of Maskandi in “Sbali” and mainly Xhosa lyrics that talk about the usual - love and life in the hood. The only surprise is “O modimo waka”. A moving Sotho praise song that will score points with your gogo, mkhulu and gospel music lovers alike.

-Gugulethu Mkhabela
Wondering where the amazing afro-soul group that gave us timeless gems such as “Sthandwa sami” and “Eagles Fly” disappeared to? Well, you’ll be glad to know that they’re still around and have sprouted into a duo.
