Popular Afrikaans band Die Tuindwergies will be launching their second full-length album, Terwyl die Donker Wolke Dans, on 2 July 2012.
Die Tuindwergies, consisting of two groups of brothers from musical families, won an MK award for Best Newcomer in 2011.
Die Tuindwergies are Dawie de Jager (Bass), Pieter de Jager (lead vocalist and acoustic guitar), Emile Swiegers (lead guitar and backing vocals) and Jean Swiegers (drums).
Their first LP, Tuis Gekweek, was released in 2009. The song Kopskudkinders was an immediate hit and reached No 1 on Tuks Fm's Top 30 chart as well as Jacaranda FM's Top 10. Their self-titled album followed soon after in 2010.
Their new album, Terwyl die Donker Wolke Dans, is influenced by a combination of country, folk, and rock. The lyrics were written by Emile and Pieter.
Die Tuindwergies recently released a video for their first single, Golwe.
