An Afrikaans rock affêre

Watch our interview with FND and see them perform a live song:
- Broadband Version (7.8MB)
- Medium quality (2.5MB)

Foto Na Dans is new but they have all the elements that made punk-rockers Fokofpolisiekar famous: screetching guitar rifs, rebellious Afrikaans lyrics, strong vocals and tight emo-punk jeans.

But according to FND they are actually nothing like Fokofpolisiekar. They have their own sound; in any case they have a trumpet player in the band.

They also plan to do their own thing – and not just blindly follow in Fokof’s footsteps, or try to take what they have started to the next step. The comparison does flatter them nevertheless. Being compared to one of the most influential rock bands in SA is not a bad thing after all.

FND is ready to take the SA music scene by storm, they have talent and they have passion. And looking at the attendance at their recent gig in Cape Town, they already have quite a loyal following in the Western Cape.

We met up with FND at Mercury Live in Cape Town to interview them and to record their songs on video.

* Bonus: Watch Foto Na Dans’ music video, Huiwerig

They're an Afrikaans rock band, they have five members and their name begins with an 'F', who are they? Not Fokofpolisiekar! They are Foto Na Dans. publishes all comments posted on articles provided that they adhere to our Comments Policy.
