Why some Idols graduates do better than others
It’s about dedication, ambition and hard work at the end of the day. If you look at the overseas artists like Chris Daughtry, Will Young, Gareth Gates, all those okes from Idols, they didn’t come first, well Will Young did. But so many of them that didn’t come first, really are doing brilliantly. At the end of the day, it catapults you into the industry. It all depends on how you approach the industry and how you choose to sustain your name within the industry.

I basically introduced myself to Pebbles. Awesome girl! Obviously she also won a SAMA and she’s a brilliant singer! She listened to the single “I wont forget”, which had a part for a female and she just took to it.

And working with Akon?!… He didn’t come to the studio and I didn’t meet him. What happened was, it was hooked up through the agency itself and through the producers. He sent a hook from his track; “A natural born hustler” and I had to write in the melody for that track. We then had to send it back to the producers and they together with Akon had to approve it. And he approved it!
