For the young at heart there was HHP, Lira and Leela James. And for those who like the more mature artist there was Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Joe Sample and Randy Crawford. We captured the highlights for those of you who missed out on the action.


This R&B/Afro-Jazz singer gave a great performance. She seemed genuinely humbled by the love she received in Cape Town.

He may be on the heavy side but HHP does not stand for hip hop pig. He is Hip Hop Pantsula and he proved himself at this festival by giving a larger-than-life performance to screaming fans.

Leela James
Her vocals are so powerful, she could easily be called the honey-molasses queen. This pint-sized soul singer was dynamite on stage: running, screaming and jumping, and she encouraged the crowd to do the same.

They may be getting on a bit in years, but LBM still have the energy and talent it takes to be superstars. Even Beyonce would love to dance like they do.

Randy Crawford and Joe Sample
Her outfit was red, but it wasn’t hot. Randy made up for it by singing her heart out. Unlike other divas, Randy has not lost her sweet soulful voice.
