Koos Kombuis is back! - Koos Kombuis sings about crime

2007-02-28 13:00
We received a short email from Koos Kombuis recently: "I would love to invite you to our house to record a new song for my blog when you get back in January! Im a bit tired of the "Fokkol" song, and there's a better one waiting in the wings..."

Sure, we said. Koos claims he no longer bothers with recording studios. When he wants a new song, he just gets us in.

The new song is inspired by rage and frustration at the destruction being wrought on South Africa by crime and violence. It's about the murder of his colleague and friend Taliep Petersen, a South African music legend known around the world.

With some very basic video equipment (two camcorders and a microphone) we got an English and an Afrikaans interview and recorded an MP3 of the new song, "Reconciliation Day". Chop-chop. WATCH THE VIDEOS
