About the Bands

Following in the footsteps of the successful Old Mutual Encounters Family Picnic at the Spier wine estate in 2006 in Cape Town, this replica event is not to be missed. Facilities are provided for children and include a special playground, which provides a safe environment and plenty of entertainment for kids, allowing parents to relax and enjoy the concert. Hothouse Flowers’ distinctive sound is created by its four members – Liam O’Maonlai vocals, keyboards, guitar, bodhran, didgeridoo, tin whistle and practically anything else that makes a sound. Fiachna O’Braonain plays the guitar and is also on backing vocals and tin whistle. Drums and percussion are in the hands of Dave Clarke and Kieran Kennedy is the bassist of this unique group of musicians. Playing the streets of Dublin since 1985, the band has plenty of music to offer. Hothouse Flowers' Biography
