Zola has daddy issues
Zola is in need of some urgent spiritual guidance, it seems. The Sunday Sun reports that the kwaito and reality TV star is desperate to connect with madlozi from his father’s side, as he is “a lost soul as he fights to attain his real identity”. Zola claims that after years of slaughtering goats, sheep and fowls to appease his ancestors, nothing has worked. “I keep talking to my maternal ancestors, and yet I have a father whose forebearers I should be connecting with,” he says. Ironically, the only person who can help him is none other than his estranged father, who lives in Orange Farm. But his elusive dad refuses to attend the traditional ceremonies. “My father has never attended a single ceremony I have held at home in Soweto and at my house here in Melville. My soul is restless and I’m frustrated,” he adds. Poor guy. What could be causing his unease? Since he has a new baby on the way and recently started his own record label, Guluva Records. Is Zola perhaps trying to atone for his wild ways?
