Spikiri’s Tantrum
If you haven’t heard about the kwaito star’s misbehaviour at Kabelo’s bash, you must be living under a boulder. Word has it that the Trompies’ main man was swearing and screaming at his Kalawa Jazmee record label boss and his host Bouga Luv, who was desperately trying to calm him down. A couple of days later Spikiri apologised to his kids and the families who had to watch the drama unfold, but refused to apologise for getting angry. Hayike! Maybe Spikiri will think twice next time.

Fokofpolieskar lead singer temporarily sobers up
Do Fokof fans prefer Van Coke pissed? Well, after disappointing his band by getting flippin’ dronk before last year’s Oppikoppi gig and messing up their performance, François van Coke vowed to stay sober for this year’s Way of the Dassie performance. He did. According to a fan, Fokofpolieskar gave a “professional but rather uninspired performance.” “It’s much more fun to see the band drunk and falling over on stage!” said the fan, who wishes to remain anonymous. We were happy to learn that François made up for his sober spell the following day by getting fokken dronk for their second Oppikoppi gig!

Amy Winehouse hospitalised
The painfully thin 'Rehab' singer, who had been on a three-day binge before she was hospitalised last week, admits she was "out of control" and needs to get help. The singer allegedly took a cocktail of ecstasy, cocaine and ketamine, mixed with vodka, whisky and lager during the mammoth session with her husband Blake Fielder-Civil. Amy told Britain's News of the World: "It was just crazy - one of the most terrifying moments of my life. I couldn't recognise myself. I was terrified. I was so out of control. I'm sorry - I just don't know what got into me. I never want to feel that way again. I know things have got to change. I need to sort myself out." Amy insists her father, not rehab, will help her beat her drugs problem. The 23-year-old star said: "He sorts me out. When I get self-destructive I just need to spend time with my dad. Rehab is a cop-out." According to reports, the singer - who was given an emergency adrenaline shot and had her stomach pumped - checked into London's The Priory rehab centre this week. Seems the star is finally “copping out” and saying yes, yes, yes! to rehab. Britney Spears’ cousin ordered to court
Seems Britney is having a hell of a year! Her cousin and party buddy, Alli Sims, was served this week with legal papers testify in the singer's custody battle after partying with the star in the Hollywood Hills. The subpoena papers, sent by Britney's ex-husband Kevin Federline, will force Alli to testify about the star's parenting skills. Alli recently defended the 'Toxic' singer when she insisted she is a great mother to 22-month-old Sean Preston and Jayden James, 10 months. She said: "She's a wonderful mom and she is so hands-on. Britney loves those babies to death. And they adore her." Kevin, who filed for primary custody of his two children with Britney, is hoping he will be awarded primary physical custody because of Britney's recent erratic behaviour. Can somebody say Gold digging wigger?

50 Cent challenges Kanye West
The two hip-hop stars new albums - 50's 'Curtis' and West's 'Graduation - are both released on September 11 and 50 is so confident he will win the sales war he is willing to gamble his future. 50 Cent said: "Let's raise the stakes. If Kanye West sells more records than 50 Cent on September 11, I'll no longer perform music.” West's previous album Late Registration has so far sold 2.8 million - far less than 50 Cent's Get Rich or Die Tryin'? which has sold almost 8 million. 50 went on to claim West's record label will even buy his album to bolster sales. "And I bet this: When Kanye West's sales come in, Def Jam is gonna buy records to keep him closer to 50 Cent. Not that his accusation were enough, five bob has also challenged West to a live TV debate. When asked about the challenge at the MTV Video Music Award nominations, West said: "What am I going to debate about? I thought it was the stupidest thing. When my album drops and 50's album drops, you're going to get a lot of good music at the same time."

BEP star makes music in toilet.
When most people opt to read in the loo, Black Eyed Peas’ will.i.am is so dedicated to creating new songs he has turned his home into a recording studio by installing recording equipment in every room of his R52 million Hollywood mansion, even in the loo! Seems the star does not want to miss out on creating good music. will.i.am told Britain's The Times newspaper: "It's not really a house, it's a studio. There are microphones and places I can plug in everywhere, a wireless controller, so I record from anywhere. And I can log on from anywhere in the world, so even if I'm in London or Tokyo, I can still be making music." Ok, does this mean the “drum” sound on BEP hit “Where is the love?” is actually the sound of will doing number two?

Mel B secret wedding a secret to Spice Girls
The 32-year-old singer - who married her film producer lover Stephen Belafonte in Las Vegas on June 6 - kept quiet because she wanted to avoid criticism for marrying while simultaneously fighting a paternity battle with ex-lover Eddie Murphy. A source said: "Mel didn't want to tell anyone about her wedding. I don't think even her daughter Phoenix knew about it. Mel didn't tell the other girls and she hadn't told her family." Mel is expected to invite her bandmates Victoria Beckham, Mel C, Geri Halliwell and Emma Bunton to a big wedding bash later in the year. The couple - who have been friends for seven years - paid just R 427 for their nuptials at the 'drive-thru' chapel. Mel is protected her fortune by making Stephen sign a pre-nuptial agreement. The singer is being more cautious in her second marriage, after she had to pay out over R 18 million to her ex-husband Dutch dancer Jimmy Gulzar - the father of her eight-year-old daughter, Phoenix - in their divorce settlement.

Gloria Bosman to replace Thandi Klassen
Sadly, fans at Standard Bank Joy of Jazz Festival will not get to see SA jazz legend Thandi Klassen perform. The singer, who has fallen ill, had to withdraw, and as a result will be replaced by singing sensation Gloria Bosman. The Standard Bank Joy of Jazz runs in Newtown from August 23 to 25.
