WESTERN CAPE

V&A Waterfront New Year’s party

New Year’s Eve 2016/17 at the V&A Waterfront builds on the success and delight of last year’s spectacular event, and will bring Earth, Wind, Fire and Water alive across the property, in enchanting entertainment zones that give revellers a different experience around each corner.

The various zones will spring to life from 18:30 onwards, with activities and entertainment from buskers, cirque performances, roaming musicians, singers and live bands, to dance performances, floats, entertainers, and much more. More than 80 restaurants and eateries will be open on the evening, and additional food trucks will be nestled across the property to cater for all manner of hunger pangs on the night. Rezonance Festival

This 4-day festival is taking place from 30 December to 2 January 2017 at the Pat Busch Mountain Reserve in Robertson. Two stages will feature some of the hottest international and local trance, progressive, drum & bass, techno, chill and dub step acts. Tickets cost R590 and upwards. Click here for more info.

Kirstenbosch New Year’s Eve Concert

This year’s Kirstenbosh New Year’s Eve show features the legendary Johnny Clegg as well as opening act, Slow Jack. As with all other shows at Kirstenbosch, you can bring your own picnic basket and drinks. Tickets cost R375 per person and gates open at 19:00. Click here for more info and to book your spot.

Soweto Theatre in Colour Countdown

The City of Joburg and Soweto Theatre will be hosting the theatre’s first New Year’s Eve party, which will be celebrated in style on Saturday December 31st 2016. Live musicians, youth groups and drum majorette troops can post a video onto our FaceBook page – get more than 100 likes and you could be featured in the line-up on the night! Two stages will be used featuring well known and up-and-coming musicians, DJ’s and comedians. Tickets are free, but you have to reserve your spot. Click here for more info. 

Hello New Years, Goodbye 2016

Arcade Empire in Pretoria presents NEW YEARS 2016, one bad-ass party to end off 365 days of Arcade parties, heatwaves, heavy rain and whatever made you sad! One electro stage, one main alternative stage, good party vibes & one great way to start your 2017! KWAZULU-NATAL

Smoking Dragon Festival

Want to ring in the New Year with a bang? Then the Smoking Dragon Festival is for you! Back for its 6th year, the festival is taking place from Thursday 29 December to Sunday 1 January and has expanded to 4 stages.

International acts that will be performing include Stelth Ulvang of The Lumineers and US band Tudo Mundo. The local line-up include acts such as Grassy Spark, The Rudimentals, The Kiffness, Tidal Waves and more.

The Grand Finale featuring Nasty C

Keeping it 100% local, various artists from the Mabala Noise stable will perform on New Year’s Eve at the Kings Park Stadium, Durban from 17:00 until 02:00. Tickets are limited to only 10 000 party goers, early bird tickets are on sale at Computicket and will be open those over the age of 18 only.

Billy’s Beach New Year’s Eve party

Billy’s Beach in St Francis Bay is once again bringing an amazing line-up for their New Year’s party. Start 2017 with the likes of French DJ and electronic musician, Worakls, as well as Mowgli from New Zealand. The evening will feature 2 stages with many local acts as well. Vic Falls Carnival

Combine Southern Africa's biggest artists, the world’s greatest adventures and adrenalin-filled activities, with a New Year’s countdown like nowhere else on earth and you have arrived at the world-renowned Jameson Vic Falls Carnival. he festival will be taking place from 29 December to 31 December in Vic Falls, Zimbabwe.

The line-up:
This year’s carnival is set to take over the town of Vic Falls as the festival returns for its fourth edition along with SA’s top electronic trio and returning headline act, Goodluck, and pop musos, Locnville, for their first Jameson Vic Falls Carnival performance. Festival-goers are sure to dance the night away into 2017 with the chart-topping beats of producer DJ Sketchy Bongo and Cape Town’s live electronic duo, The Kiffness.
