6 South African music events you can’t miss this winter!


Cape Town - Missing summer and searching for some hot events to shake off the winter blues?

Look no further! We’ve got you sorted with these killer gigs during the next three months.

Check out these music events that you can’t miss:

1) Kenny Rogers

He will be performing his Farewell South Africa Tour in Johannesburg on 15 and 16 June 2015 at the Big Top Arena, Carnival City and in Cape Town on 18 June at the Grand Arena, GrandWest. Kenny will also be supported by the country legends "Big Daddy" Lance James, "Queen of Country" Barbara Ray, "Midnight Cowboy" Clive Bruce and "The Killer" Tommy Dell.  Tickets range from R395 – R760.

2) One Republic

US pop rock band One Republic will be touring SA in support of their latest album, Native. They will be performing in Johannesburg on 19 June 2015 at The Dome and Cape Town on 21 June 2015 at the Grand Arena, GrandWest. Tickets ranges from R340 – R650.

3) Blood Brothers

Making history as South Africa’s first ever Super Group, the Blood Brothers unite in their battle against cancer in support of the Vrede Foundation. Artists include Francois van Coke, Kobus De Kock Jnr, Arno Carstens, Albert Frost, Hunter Kennedy and more. They will be performing at the Big Top Arena in Johannesburg on 18 July and tickets range from R250 – R395 and are available here.

4) Ben Howard

UK singer-songwriter Ben Howard will be performing on 22 and 23 July in Cape Town at the Grand Arena, GrandWest and on 25 July in Johannesburg at Zoo Lake. Tickets cost R465.

5) Oppikoppi

Northam will once again play host to the 21st annual rock festival, Oppikoppi 21: The Fantastic Mr. VOS VOS. Artists that have been confirmed for this year’s festival include rapper AKA, Scottish group Twin Atlantic, Adventure Man, Cortina Whiplash, Bye Beneco, Crimson House, Die See, Anton Goosen and many more. The festival is taking place from 7-9 August. Tickets cost R750.

6) George Ezra

One of music’s biggest breakthrough artists, 21-year-old George Ezra will be touring South Africa at the end of August 2015. The unassuming, folk singer from Hertford, England that has taken the world by  storm, will be performing live at the Durban Shongweni Polo Club on 28 August, at Durbanville Racecourse in Cape Town on 29 August and outdoors at Carnival City in Johannesburg on 30 August. Tickets range from R565 – R865 and are available here.
