6 sizzling local hip-hop and house tracks

Cape Town - The South African music industry has been catching fire for a while now and we feel like this winter it's going to break out into a blazing hot inferno thanks to these local jams.

1) AKA – Congratulate me

We kick things off with one of the most controversial figures in the local music scene. He hyped this video up to the point where people thought it might be better than a Kimye sex tape. But when it eventually dropped opinions they were... mixed. Nevertheless we dig it. It’s not as hot as he tweeted it would be, but it is a banger for sure.

Check it out:

2) Cassper Nyovest -  Doc Shebeleza

It’s hard to go anywhere without hearing this song and the video is blowing UP on music channels from here to Nigeria and we can see why. Between that ponytail of his and the intricate storyline of a man and his jump-offs we know that either you’re going to love it or love it already.

3) Da L.E.S & Magesh - Hape le Hape 2.1 ft

Sometimes a song is so good that you have to do a sequel, and man this follow up is a banger. We love it because it sounds like payday feels. Check it out:

4) Uhuru ft. DJ Buckz, Oskido, Professor and Uri-Da-Cunha - Y-tjukutja

Uhuru can do no wrong lately with his MAMA nominations and this video that has over 700 000 views on YouTube. Local fans everywhere are going crazy about this quirky music video. See what all the fuss is about here:

5) DJ Ganyani ft FB - Xigubu

This video is sexy AF. FB sure knows how to work a camera with those dance moves, that leopard print top and those longing stares. We’ve caught feelings and we’re not alone with over 1 million views.

6) Davido ft Mafikizolo - Tchelete (Goodlife)

Mafikizolo are back in a big way and they’ve brought friends. This track is a certified hit. Check it out:

P.S We hope this video is preview of what we can expect to see on stage at MAMA spectacle in June.
