6 songs we’ll be partying to this summer

Cape Town – Most of you are probably already lying on a beach somewhere enjoying your end of year break.

And while you’re doing that, we decided to bring you some awesome songs that we’ll be partying to this summer.

Check out the Channel24 team’s top tracks for summer here:

1. Stargazing - Kygo ft. Justin Jesso

I absolutely love Kygo’s sound. And I absolutely love that every track of his I’ve listened to is not only catchy and fresh but that they too tell a story. I’ve picked Stargazing ft. Justin Jesso because it starts off a little sad and slow but builds up into a party anthem I’ll be dancing to on New Year’s Eve. - Bronwyn McKay (International News Editor)

2. Vicky - DJ Speedsta  ft. Jay Claude, Stogie T

This song is about two months old but I was recently introduced to it. It is catchy and has the perfect beat to just bob your head to with the windows rolled down as you're driving along the beach. I especially love that it has a 90s R&B throwback feel which is nostalgic to me as I grew up listening to the genre. – Leandra Engelbrecht (TV and Movies Editor)

3. Havana ft. Young Thug - Camila Cabello

I heard the song in my Uber on the radio driving past Clifton. It was one of those hot days and I had the window open. The cool sea breeze, the tune, summer, beach, sunshine…perfection. I’ll have this one on repeat until autumn comes. - Herman Eloff (Editor)

4. Homemade Dynamite  (Feat. Khalid, Post Malone & SZA) – Lorde

I’ll be partying to this because it’s three of my favourite artists of 2017 and a chorus that is so catchy it always gets stuck in my head. Sza’s verse is dreamy and my favourite part of the song. She’s also a great artist to look out for at next year’s Grammys. - Alex Isaacs (The Juice – Content Producer)

5. Yasis – Youngsta

I have to admit that I only discovered Youngsta like a year ago, so while I’m a bit behind, I’ve been greedily devouring this local rapper’s new tracks as they drop. And as with all his track, Yasis is another catchy track with a lekker beat that will get you in a party mood this summer. – Jean-Marie Korff (Music Editor)

6. Lemon – N.E.R.D ft. Rihanna

Rihanna teamed up with N.E.R.D and released Lemon –  their first track in three years – in November. And Riri doesn’t just do the bridge, or the hook. Nope. She spits her own damn verse!
The beat is so catchy, and I can’t help but move along to the rhythm and pull my stank face. - Graye Morkel (Editor, The Juice)
