Cape Town - Idols 6 winner, Elvis Blue has seen his self
titled debut album attain Gold status by selling 20 000 copies in a mere 29
days from release.
Fuelled by the runaway success of his winning song, Things my father said, the album has become the first by an Idols winner to achieve this accolade, in the history of the competition.
Furthermore Elvis Blue also holds the worldwide record for the first Idols winner to record and release an album within 30 days of winning the competition.
On hearing the news Elvis said “I’m over the moon, I have seen some of my dreams come true. First and foremost I want to thank the fans who made this possible and everyone at Universal Music who worked so hard to make this happen”.
His new single Lighthouse will hit radio airwaves on January 17 and promises to be another smash hit.
