Former X Factor judge charged for helping to supply drugs

London - British prosecutors say they are charging singer and former UK X Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos for allegedly helping supply cocaine to an undercover journalist.

Contostavlos, 25, was arrested in June over allegations of supplying hard drugs after the Sun tabloid ran a story claiming she had acted as a go-between in a deal to sell cocaine.

Prosecutor Baljit Ubhey said on Monday that police will charge Contostavlos with "being concerned in the supply of class A drugs".

Contostavlos will appear at London's Westminster Magistrates' Court on 19 December.

She rose to fame with London group N-Dubz and — after a stint judging the UK talent show X Factor — was replaced by Sharon Osbourne.
