Get schooled! Everything you gotta know about Ben Howard before his SA gigs!

Cape Town – Super sexy surfer and singer Ben Howard is heading to our shores for a short tour of South Africa.

The young singer-songwriter is best known for his indie folk music that will have you hooked in a matter of minutes.

His laid-back vibes and handsome features make it easy to see why Ben’s got an ever-growing fan base. It then also comes as no surprise that the British singer has a massive following in Mzansi.

To make sure you’re educated before Ben arrives we’ve put together a handy guide to ensure you’re schooled!

1) Ben is a handsome 28-year-old British lad.

2) He actually studied journalism before pursuing a career in music. Despite his journo background, Ben is super shy and hardly ever sits down for an interview.

3) According to SongFacts.com, Ben's song Old Pine was inspired by a real-life event after he was nearly killed by a falling pine tree during a surf trip when he was 16.

4) In this YouTube interview Ben reveals that his method of laying the guitar flat against his knees and playing it percussively was influenced by contemporary folk songwriter and guitarist John Smith.

5) This is Ben’s first time touring South Africa and we’re sure he’ll try to catch a surf while he’s here.
