Is Rihanna Big Concert's big reveal?

Cape Town - RnB superstar Rihanna may be heading to South Africa later this year.

It all started with Big Concerts making a usually cryptic announcement on their Facebook page early on Friday morning, saying: "She's coming to SA for two stadium shows. Find out who on Monday 8th April at 7.30am."

This post was followed up with various other clues, stating she has "27 million followers on Twitter" and that "she will be heading to South Africa for two stadium shows in October".

Speculation over who this mysterious "she" is has run riot, sending social networks abuzz with theories on who she might be. Among some of the names being thrown out by fans on Facebook include Beyoncé, P!nk and Katy Perry.

'Nothing more than speculation'

Heat magazine took to Twitter later on Friday to make an "exclusive" announcement: "@5FM are announcing the SA tour of a female singer on Monday.heat can reveal it's @rihanna who will be performing in JHB & CPT during Oct!"

Channel24 spoke to Gwen Ironsi of Big Concerts about the validity of heat's early announcement, and she said that "nothing is more than speculation at this moment" and that the official announcement will be made on Monday morning.

Heat's Rihanna reveal has been getting mixed reactions online.

In reply to Heat Magazine's tweet, Meg Maccallum responded with: "Boooooooo :("

On Facebook, users have also come forth with mixed reaction, with some saying "it would be a let down if it was Rihanna".
