Cape Town – Concertgoers planning to attend Bon Jovi or Justin Bieber's shows at the FNB Stadium over the weekend have been warned by officials not to pay illegal car guards, reports Eyewitness News.
The warning was issued following reports of a staff member being stabbed at the Metallica concert held at the FNB Stadium two weeks ago.
Stadium management's Andre Homan told Eyewitness News: "We heard that one of our ticket sellers was stabbed by an illegal car guard in an overflow parking area to the east of the stadium."
According to Metro police spokesperson Edna Mamonyane, motorists should not encourage the practice and should rather use the Park and Ride facilities or buy pre-booked parking tickets.
After a very successful Cape Town show on Wednesday, singing to a 65 000-strong crowd, Canadian teen pop sensation Justin Bieber will be heading to the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg on Sunday, 12 May.
US rockers Bon Jovi will perform at the FNB Stadium on Saturday, 11 May.
