Johannesburg - Actress and musician Kelly Khumalo’s star continues to rise. Khumalo took to Instagram this week to announce that Asine Fever would be hitting the UK soon, City Press reported.

Khumalo will be heading off on her first international tour in May and will be taking DJ Bongz and DJ Minwana with her.

Also this week, it was reported that legendary musician Yvonne Chaka Chaka claims that Khumalo’s smash hit Asine is actually her song, originally called Reya Lots’ha and recorded in 1997 for her album Bombani.

Khumalo’s Asine has been nominated for Song of The Year at this year’s Metro FM Awards, and her album, on which the song is featured, Back to my Roots is up for the Best African Pop Album at next Saturday’s awards in Durban.

Producer of both songs Sello Chico Twala was quoted in Sowetan this week as saying, "I never told Yvonne because she is not the one who wrote it. The song belongs to me."

Twala also came to Khumalo’s defence last year, following the backlash Khumalo received about performing Asine (which means ‘it wasn’t me’) after her boyfriend and Bafana Bafana captain Senzo Meyiwa was murdered.

Khumalo said about the ongoing investigation on Talk Radio 702 with Sam Cowen this afternoon: "My conscience is very clear, so I have nothing to worry about. My family and friends know how much I loved, and still love Senzo and I just don’t understand what’s taking so long."

She told Cowen that her fans have been very good to her. "I have received nothing but love from my fans, on Facebook and at shows. They really love me."
