Lady Gaga Jhb transport info released

Johannesburg – Transport details for Lady Gaga's performance in Johannesburg on Friday, 30 November have been announced.

According to Big Concerts' Facebook page, an extensive traffic management plan has been put in place which will broadly replicate that used during the Soccer World Cup.

Gates at the FNB Stadium will open at 17:00 and due to transport and entry systems being pressured with the large crowd, concertgoers are encouraged to allow enough transport and entry time so as not to miss any of the show.

There are three options in place for fans attending the concert:

1. Park 'n Ride

Tickets are R120 per return ticket from Northgate Shopping Centre, East Rand Mall and Silverstar Casino and R160 from Menlyn Shopping Centre, Royal Elephant Hotel and Emerald Casino. 

All Park 'n Ride facilities will open at 13:00 with the first bus leaving at 14:00 and the last bus at 16:00, except for Northgate Shopping Centre where the last bus will leave at 16:30.

Depending on the facility, there will be no additional payment at any of the park-and-ride facilities and you are not expected to pay any security or parking attendance staff.

Buses will start leaving the stadium 30 minutes after the show for the Park 'n Ride centres, as and when each bus reaches capacity, with the last bus no later than 1 hour.

Park and Ride tickets can be purchased from Computicket.

2. Park and Rail:

To the concert:

There will be three trains shuttling between Johannesburg Park Station and Nasrec:

1. Train 2270 will depart from park station at 15:35 and will arriving at Nasrec at 16:15.

2. Train 2277 will depart from park station at 17:09 and will arriving at Nasrec at 17:49.

3. Train 2284 will depart from park station at 17:20 and will arriving at Nasrec at 18:00.
 
Returning:

The following return train service will be available as follows:
 
Nasrec – Springs
Train 2232/3 will depart from Nasrec at 00:50 via Johannesburg, Germiston, Dunswart, Benoni, Brakpan arriving at Springs at 02:34.

Nasrec – Randfontein
Train 22352/6 will depart from Nasrec at 00:40 via Johannesburg, Langlaagte, Roodepoort, Krugersdorp arriving at Randfontein at 01:46.

Nasrec – Pretoria
Train 2248/9 will depart from Nasrec at 00:30 via Johannesburg, Germiston, Rhodesfield, Centurion arriving at Pretoria at 01:21.

3. Parking at the stadium

A limited number of parking tickets within Soccer City precinct are available from Computicket, and car pooling is advised if you have purchased a parking ticket.
 
Disabled parking is available and fans in possession of a Disabled Parking Ticket will be directed to parking conveniently situated close to the stadium entrance. These parking tickets can be purchased from Computicket.

Do not attempt to approach the stadium by car, unless you are in possession of a Computicket issued parking ticket. 

Roads in the Soccer City precinct will be closed from 06:00 on Friday 30th November 2012, and you will not be allowed entry unless you have the prerequisite parking ticket.

According to SAPA, the Soweto Highway will be closed between the N1 and Mentz Road from 18:00 until midnight and Nasrec Road will be closed between the N17 and Rand Show Road.

Concertgoers are advised to park in Shareworld Road and at Nasrec.

Lady Gaga will also be performing at the Cape Town Stadium on Monday, 3 December. Transport details for this concert will follow.
