One Direction enter under 30 rich list

Los Angeles - One Direction are the fifth highest-earning British stars under 30.

The group - consisting of Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Zayn Malik - have amassed a fortune of £26.3m between them in 2011, meaning they have earned more than Skyfall singer Adele and former X Factor winner Leona Lewis.

However, they still trail far behind Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe, who made £53.3m and retains his place at number one in the list compiled by heat magazine.

Robert Pattinson moved up one place from three to two by banking £38.73m in 2011, beating Anna Karenina actress Keira Knightley's earnings of £32.7m.

'They'll be after the number one spot'

Other notable inclusions in the top 20 include Cheryl Cole, who amassed £13.4m and was placed at number nine - dropping two from her position last year - and actress Emily Blunt, who earned £9.47m.

The rich list is compiled by a combination of the stars publicly declared business dealings and was judged by heat editor Lucie Cave, PR guru James Herring and talent manager John Noel.

Commenting on One Direction's success in the list, Lucie said: "One Direction will be thrilled to hear that they've burst into heat's Rich List as the highest new entry at number five. Like any pop stars they'll be after the number one spot, of course, but if they keep going the way they have been, that might be a reality in 2013."

Despite being placed one spot lower than One Direction, Adele moved up 10 places on the list from her position last year.

The heat rich list 2012 top 10:

1. Daniel Radcliffe £53.3m

3. Keira Knightley £32.7m
4. Emma Watson £26.5m

6. Adele £26m
7. Rupert Grint £23.4m
8. Leona Lewis £13.6m
