Cape Town - American soul duo Peaches & Herb is set to perform in Cape Town in May.
The Sweethearts of Soul, as they are known, are scheduled to perform on Saturday, 4 May at the Grand Arena at Grand West Casino in Cape Town.
Capetonians can look forward to a unique performance featuring the duo's hits such as Reunited, Let's Fall in Love, Close your Eyes, For Your Love, Love is Strange and Shake Your Groove Thing.
Peaches & Herb started their road to success with their 1976 release of Let's Fall in Love. After that, Reunited attained the No 1 spot worldwide in 1980 and has become known as the duo's signature song. Reunited's success was followed a year later by the album I Pledge My Love, which has gained favour as a wedding march. The duo cemented their success the following year when they stormed the hit parade with Bluer than Blue.
The original Peaches, real name Francine Hurd Barker, passed away in 2005. Six other female singers have taken over the role of Peaches' vocals. Wanda Tolson is the latest in a series of female performers to take to the stage as Herb's singing partner.
Tickets are priced from R230 and are available from Computicket.
