Red Hot Chili Peppers coming to SA?

Cape Town – Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith revealed on Twitter on Monday that the band will bring their tour to Africa in 2013.

There has yet to be an official announcement regarding the rumour from any concert promoters, including Big Concerts, who are bringing Lady Gaga to South Africa in December this year.

Chad tweeted the following: "RT @sin_says_hi: It's not a world tour if you don't come to Africa. @RHCPchad @flea333 Just sayin'/ Ok then..Were comin in Feb!"



Twitter has since been abuzz with people wanting to know whether the band will be performing in South Africa next year. RHCP have also been trending on Twitter since Chad's tweet.

One Twitter user said: "How great would it be if "when" RHCP come to SA, we wouldn't have to buy our tickets on @Computicket? Ohhh yesss."

Sarina Johnson tweeted: "I'll stop eating food to save enough cash to go see the Red Hot Chili Peppers in SA in Feb. Now Big Concerts must just confirm the rumour..."

Heat Magazine also shared their excitement at the rumour, tweeting "According to the Red Hot Chili Peppers' drummer Chad Smith, they're coming to Africa in Feb 2013. Eek! Stoked?"
