What is it with drummers this year? Lost my own this January age 39, also heart attack. RIP man, condolences to family and friends

Why was he not transferred to a bigger centre? Molteno hospital is tiny and has no specialist physicians, although the medical staff there did their best I am sure. A helicopter could have taken him to East London or Bloemfontein in an hour.

this is sad. i never knew the man but as a musician i always feel a deep sense of loss at the passing of a fellow-musician, even though i know we eventually wind up in the ultimate good dimension - of that i am certain without a shred of doubt. my condolences to Paul's family, friends and band colleagues. drum on Paul, drum on fellow-muso...

I saw them perform a few times and absolutely loved their music. I have just received the news, all the way in England and am devastated. Paul was such an amazing musician and brilliant entertainer, besides being unbelievably good looking. I admire him for his witness as a christian. I am praying for his family, wife and band. Kind Regards, Fan, Donné
