SA drummer dies after meningitis

Cape Town – Southern Gypsey Queen drummer, Paul Wilson, died of a heart attack on Wednesday afternoon at Molteno Hospital, in the Eastern Cape

Rolling Stone reported that Wilson, 29, had been suffering from a serious case of meningitis, but had been expected to recover.

Last week the band had cancelled a performance at Kaktus op die Vlaktes at the KKNK because he was ill.

South African musician and songwriter Anton Goosen, tweeted: RIP Paul Wilson.

Radio and TV personality Elma Smit said: Wow. So sad. RIP Paul.
