SAMAs reveal posh R18k goodie bags

Cape Town - The organisers of the 19th South African Music Awards have gone all out to make their guests at this year's event feel special with a goodie bag worth R18 000.

The elite goodie bags, to be handed out to special guests, presenters and performers at the show, is filled to the brim with designer footwear, exclusive jewellery, cosmetics, pamper treatments and trendy fashion items.

Collectively, the gift bags equal over R2.5m in value.

Some of the branded items included in the goodie bag include: Guess accessories, Ray-Ban shades, Monster DNA Headphones, a pair of Impress-ive shoes, Azzaro Fragrances, skin care products from Dermalogica, Clarins make-up, haircare products by Mizani, Cult Collective T-Shirts, Douwe Egberts coffee, a special item from Elegance Jewelers, Le Coq Sportif footwear, Status ladies wear, Pamela Mann Legwear, "exclusive" SABC laptop bags, pieces of Honey Jewellery, KIA picnic blankets, Tip Top items, custom made USBs by Nampak, a Rolling Stone magazine and a T-shirt.

Häagen Dazs, Mageu and Bos Iced Tea will also be on hand to keep guests refreshed in the Sun City heat with sweet treats.

Also included in the gift bag is a Tomato watch and a voucher for a night of fine dining at the KOI restaurant in either Johannesburg or Pretoria.

The main MTN SAMA 19 awards ceremony takes place at the Sun City Superbowl on Saturday, 11 May and will be televised live on SABC1 from 20:00.

Some of the expected guests and nominees for this year's show include ChianoSky, MiCasa, Toya Delazy, Elvis Blue, The Muffinz, Khuli Chana, HHP, Kelly Khumalo and Khaya.
