Sun City is coming to SA!

2014-11-21 13:09

Cape Town – Sun City is coming to South Africa. Nope, we’re not referring to the resort in the North West. We’re referring to the Aussie band with the same name.

The boys are heading to sunny SA for a gig at Electric Vines. The music fest is taking place at Arabella Wine Estate in the picturesque Robertson valley and is a two day party that can’t be missed.

We were lucky enough to corner Sun City for a quickie to the get the inside scoop on what’s going down amongst the vines.

A Channel24 quickie is a brief or spontaneous episode consisting of five frisky questions in which celebs and Channel24 have a brief frolic leaving all parties involved feeling satisfied and craving a cigarette.

Top of the world! #tablemountain #capetown #epic #tourlife

What are you guys most looking forward to when visiting South Africa this December?

Well jumping out of a plane and parachuting into the festival grounds at Electric Vines is going to top the list as the most epic entrance we’ve ever made to a gig ever. We’re not normally ones for a dramatic entrance but that’s something we’re looking forward to! T.I.A. is the appropriate expression here we think.

Did you know that you share your name with a famous South African resort?

We didn’t at the time, but it didn’t take long before we found out! It’s definitely played a part in how receptive SA has been to us… Perhaps it provides some sort of familiarity or something. We just lucked out with that one.

What’s the weirdest request you’ve ever received from a fan?

Earlier this year a young guy from Florida (USA) asked us to put together something special so that he could fly 12000 kilometres  to his see his girlfriend in Tokyo and surprise her with some signed merch/records from her favourite band. That was pretty special.

Oh and we sometimes get some weird e-mails from South Africans asking us about hotel facilities at 'Sun City'. We have fun with those ones.

What type of music do you listen to when on tour?

Normally pretty chilled stuff actually – when you’re on the road playing at dance music festivals and night clubs and not getting much sleep, you kind of need something to mellow you out.

Complete the sentence: The best thing about summer is that you get to…

The best thing about summer is that you get to surf, party at festivals by the beach and drink rum out of coconuts on stage. Duh!
