We had a quickie with Freshlyground and they revealed some awesome news!

Cape Town - We recently had a quickie with Simon Atwell from Freshlyground ahead of their show in Johannesburg tonight.

FYI: A Channel24 quickie is a brief or spontaneous episode consisting of a few frisky questions in which celebs and Channel24 have a brief frolic leaving all parties involved feeling satisfied and craving a cigarette.

Simon revealed some exciting news, check it out here:

When was the last time that you performed in Gauteng and what can fans expect?

We played Park Acoustics in November 2014, but our performance was short lived, we were chased off stage by lightening after only one song. We’re back now, making up for that.

Will there be some new music or album out soon?

We’ve got two new singles, we haven’t released them yet, but part of this tour is to play the singles to our fans, they’re our best yard stick.

Are you planning any pranks for April Fool’s Day?

Telling would be giving the game away, wouldn’t it?

What will Freshlyground be up to for the rest of the year?

We’re in Mozambique and Ivory Coast during April and working on some dates for Ghana and Nigeria. We’ll be at Bushfire in Swaziland in May before heading off for a North American tour of Canada and the US in June and July. We’ll be looking at playing more SA gigs in the second half of the year once our singles are released.

Best advice someone ever gave you?

"Do you really want this? If you do then give it your all and give it all the time."

You can catch Freshlyground on stage at Barnyard Cresta tonight, Tuesday 31 March. They will perform old favourites as well as some brand new material. Be among the very first to hear their new songs You Go Low and Don't Leave Me.
